Edwin releases his Palladium Collection
Release of Palladium Collection by Edwin IJpeij

Black dust. For ages it was for me the sign of failure. But now, it is a sign of success for me. Every chemist knows that this black dust, called palladium black, is the evangelist of failure after hard work. However, exactly this black dust is the biggest blessing for the photographing fine artist. However, not for the artist alone as you will read further in this post.

This technique creates an artwork that is as permanent as the paper itself, because these black particles of precious noble metals permanently penetrate in the surface of the paper. A palladiotype photograph can therefore survive easily over thousand years, in big contrast to many other photographic printing techniques.

I see this permanency and the nobleness of the palladium as the force of female power.

Soft, tender, noble. But also strong, tough and persistent. For ever lasting. As silky as the skin, the palladium particles play a symphony of tonal values that celebrate feminine sensuality. As a jewel. A jewel of love, constructiveness and connection. Exactly, this we need now. In this world.

Palladium is valuable and beautiful, like every woman is valuable and beautiful. The true beauty is within every woman, her essence. Every mother leaves an indelible impression in the world. Palladiotype photographs are indelible, every collector and art lover who invests in palladiotypes, acquires an artwork for life and beyond.

I will post some results soon. Want to see them in real? Come to my exhibition in the Espace Art Gallery in Brussels from 8-30 April
