This is the second painting in the series of the journey in self-development of a woman. In this painting, Victoria still wears a Venetian mask. However, she is much more confident and walks confident through the gate of liberation towards you. With this painting, Edwin wants to show the movement of the "journey" that she is experiencing. But why does she still wear a mask? Somewhere deep within herself she feels shame despite her growing self-confidence. This shame was given to her when being raised, the nude was a taboo in her youth. Therefore the mask. Her journey has therefore not ended yet, because a third work as a follow-up is on its way.
Also the frame is very unique. It is made by hand in the atelier of Gregor's Frames and completely tailored to the painting. Edwin recently started a nice collaboration with Gregor's Frames, to frame his Home Jewelry® collection.
